Hmm. So exactly what is Refresh Tallahassee?
Good question. Here’s a working definition – Refresh is a community of metro Tallahassee designers and developers who interface to invigorate the web development culture in our area. Refresh is about crafting the best client-user relationship web-based media can offer. It’s a meeting at the crossroads of user-experience and usability, sharing ideas about how to “make it easy to be happy.”
OK. Who’s invited to the table?
At this point it’s pretty open-ended. Generally speaking, if it fits under the umbrella of creativity, technology, and the Internet, it’s good.
Some topics of interest include:
- Research
- Ideation
- Information Design/Architecture
- Interface Design
- Programming & Database Integration
- Testing
- Adaptation
That being said, there’s a good chance that there will be a LOT of emphasis on design, followed by a solid helping of code, while placing it all within the context of business. Sound a bit like the organization of Treehouse Magazine? Works for us.
Sounds good. When’s your next meeting?
That’s a good question. We usually meet over other month or so, but there really isn’t a fixed schedule. Use the sign-up form in the upper right side of this page, and we’ll keep you informed about upcoming events.
So are there any other Refresh groups out there? Yep.
